SIKESTON—The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace two bridges on Route UU and one bridge on Route 153 in Dunklin County.
The bridges to be replaced include:
- The Route UU bridges over Lateral Ditch 78 and Lateral Ditch 79 are located between County Road 711/725/721 and County Road 729, southeast of Kennett, Missouri.
- The Route 153 bridge over Drainage Slough is located between Marsh Road and Main Street in White Oak, Missouri.
Work to replace the bridges could begin as early as spring 2027. As construction is underway, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of each structure for approximately four months.
Maps, plans, and other information prepared by MoDOT will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT’s Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston, Missouri.

Any person affected by this project may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public meeting shall be in writing and must be submitted to Assistant District Engineer Jason Williams at 2675 North Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025.
