Vernon County – Drivers can expect lane reductions and traffic delays on Loop 49/Vernon County Route K (Austin Boulevard) in Nevada for up to 76 days for pavement repair beginning the week of Aug. 18, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
In addition to making pavement repairs, contractor crews also will add permanent pavement striping.
Here is what drivers can expect during the project:
Traffic Impacts:
- All lanes of Loop 49/Route K (Austin Boulevard) will be CLOSED in one direction with traffic shifted head-to-head in the opposite lanes between Johnson Drive and a point east of northbound I-49 on- and off-ramps
- I-49 on- and off-ramps will be closed at times
- Southbound off-ramp and northbound on-ramp CLOSED while work is done on eastbound Loop 49/Route K (Austin Boulevard)
- Northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp CLOSED while work is done on westbound Loop 49/Route K (Austin Boulevard)
- Work will be done during daytime hours, Monday-Friday
- Lanes and ramps will remain CLOSED until work is completed within the work zone
- Some work may be required on Saturdays
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zone
- No signed detour
- Drivers will experience traffic delays and should find alternate routes around work zone
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
