ST. CHARLES COUNTY – Crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will be closing the westbound Interstate 64 exit ramp to westbound Interstate 70 in mid-August for overnight closures. All work is weather permitting.
The exit ramp will close from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Monday, August 11; and from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, August 18 and on Wednesday, August 20.
Motorists traveling on westbound I-64 will detour to the eastbound I-70 Exit 1B ramp, exit at the Route A interchange, and turn around westbound on I-70.
Crews are closing the exit ramp to install barrier walls and haul material as part of the construction of the new I-70/I-64/U.S. Route 61 interchange.
This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is set to continue through 2028.
Missouri’s FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
