MoDOT to shift I-55 traffic onto median bypass south of Route Z on August 1

JEFFERSON COUNTY- Drivers who use I-55 should be aware of a new traffic pattern, starting Friday, August 1 at 8 p.m., when MoDOT will shift southbound I-55 traffic onto newly constructed median pavement from south of Route Z to north of McNutt Street.

This shift will tie into the section from McNutt Street to south of U.S. Route 67, where southbound I-55 is currently shifted to new pavement.

Southbound I-55 traffic will be fully switched onto the new pavement by 7 a.m. on Monday, August 4. Moving traffic allows crews to demolish the existing southbound I-55 pavement and the southbound I-55 bridges over Herky Horine Road and Joachim Creek.

All work is weather permitting.
