Seal Coat Operations Scheduled to Begin in Clark, Lewis and Scotland Counties

Followed by Work in Adair, Macon, Putnam, and Randolph Counties

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, as early as August 11, seal coating operations are scheduled on approximately 55 miles of various routes in Clark, Lewis and Scotland counties. Work will begin on 12 miles of Route H in Clark County, from Missouri Route 81 near Kahoka to U.S. Route 61 near Winchester.

Once complete, work will move to the following routes:

  • Route A, from U.S. Route 136 near Luray in Clark County to Missouri Route 16 in Monticello in Lewis County (29.5 miles)
  • Route B, from U.S. Route 136 in Scotland County to the Iowa State line (14 miles)

Weather permitting, as early as August 25, seal coat operations will move to begin seal coat work on the following routes in Adair, Macon, Putnam, and Randolph counties:

  • Missouri Route 149, from Route AA in Putnam County to Missouri Route 6 in Adair County near Novinger (10.7 miles)
  • Route Y, from U.S. Route 63 in Macon County near Excello to Route J in Randolph County (10.8 miles)

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction in place at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project. Flaggers and a pilot car will be utilized to direct motorists through the work zone. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

W. L. Miller Company, of Hamilton, IL, was awarded a $1.5M contract for 55.5 miles of seal coat work in Clark, Lewis and Scotland counties this year along with a second contract for $652,789 for approximately 22 miles of seal coat work in Adair, Macon, Putnam, and Randolph counties. All work is anticipated to be completed by early Fall.
