MoDOT: Missouri Route 76 Slide Repair Focus Project Public Meeting Tuesday, August 12

Project between Lake Shore Drive & Business Route 65 In Hollister

Hollister, Taney County – Those interested in the Missouri Route 76 Slide Repair Project between Lake Shore Drive & Business Route 65 in Hollister are invited to a public meeting to discuss the traffic impacts during construction and project information on Tuesday, August 12, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The come-and-go meeting will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, at the First Presbyterian Church, 420 W. Main St., Branson. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come anytime between 4:30 and 6 p.m. to learn about the project and ask questions.

Project highlights:

  • Stabilize the Missouri Route 76 embankment between the Branson Landing Boulevard roundabout and Lake Shore Drive in Hollister by Lake Taneycomo
  • Reconstruct the Route 76 roadway
  • Remove and replace 1,200 feet of roadway base
  • Install a concrete drainage ditch on the east side of Route 76, adjacent to the rock bluff
  • Approximately 14,400 vehicles travel this portion of Route 76 daily

Traffic impacts during construction:

  • Route 76 will be closed between the Business 65 roundabout and Lake Shore Drive in Hollister for up to 120 days during construction
  • The project will not impact marine traffic on Lake Taneycomo
  • Detour includes: Route 76, Coon Creek Road, and Taney County Route BB

Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026.

The estimated project cost is $7.3 million.
