Closures on U.S. 169 and Cookingham Dr. for Bridge Rehab in Clay County, July 23 - October 2025

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting various traffic modifications on U.S. Highway 169 at NW Cookingham Dr. for bridge rehabilitation. All work is weather permitting. All dates and times are approximate.

See below for traffic modifications:

Wednesday, July 23 at 9 a.m. until Friday, October 31 at 5 p.m.

  • Crews will CLOSE NB 169 at Cookingham Dr. and traffic will be diverted onto the ramp to NW Cookingham Dr/ I-435.

Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m. until approx. Monday, July 28 at 5 a.m.

  • Crews will CLOSE EB and WB Cookingham Dr. under the 169 bridge for bridge deck removal.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
