JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area July 14 – 20, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
Striping is scheduled on various routes across all counties, including nighttime striping on Interstate 70 and Interstate 44 through the month of July. Lane closures will be utilized to minimize the tracking of wet paint.
Other moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
Route WW (Broadway) – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue between Brickton Road and South Rolling Hills Road. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Route Y – Pavement resurfacing continues from U.S. Route 63 to Route J. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Business Loop 70 – The driving lane for westbound Business Loop 70 traffic is closed between Eastland Circle and Hinkson Creek, and westbound motorists are directed into the center turn lane. There is no turn lane on this route throughout the duration of the traffic shift.
Outer Road 70 (I-70 Drive) – Pavement resurfacing continues from the end of state maintenance to Missouri Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard). One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
U.S. Route 63 – Interchange improvements continue. Traffic is shifted and narrowed from Sugar Grove Road to approximately 1 mile north of Route AC (Grindstone Parkway). A 10-foot width restriction is in place. The project is expected to continue through November 2026.
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge construction and bridge rehabilitation continues between Broadway (south of I-70) and Vandiver Drive (north of I-70) in Columbia. The roadway will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through August 2025. I-70 – New pavement construction continues between Route B (Paris Road) and U.S. Route 63 as part of Improve I-70. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which is expected to be complete in 2027. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity.
Callaway County
I-70 – The ramp from Route A to westbound I-70 will be CLOSED for shoulder work daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists will need to use an alternate route.
Route H – Resurfacing continues from Route J to U.S. Route 54. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through July 2025.
Route F – Resurfacing continues from Route J to Westminster Avenue. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through August 2025.
South Outer Road 70 (Jade Road) – CLOSED for a culvert replacement project at Sallees Creek. Motorists will need to use at alternate route during the closure, which is expected to continue through February 2026.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line (near mile marker 136.6) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity
I-70 – The westbound Interstate 70 exit ramp to Williamsburg (Exit 155) is scheduled to close Tuesday, July 15 through Thursday, July 17, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Camden County
Route A – Pavement repairs planned July 16 – 17. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route D – Resurfacing scheduled to begin July 14. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2025.
Cole County
Routes T and Z – Pavement repairs planned July 14. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route B – Pavement repairs planned July 15 – 16. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation continues through July 14 over Linden Drive and Stadium Boulevard. The road is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Business U.S. 50 (Missouri Boulevard) and Stadium Boulevard. An 11-foot width restriction and speed reductions as low as 35 mph are in place through the work zone.
Associated ramps CLOSED through July 14. Motorists will need to use alternate routes:
- Madison Street on-ramp to westbound U.S. Route 54.
- U.S. Route 54 eastbound off-ramp to Madison Street.
- U.S. Route 54 westbound off-ramp to Stadium Boulevard.
- Christy Drive on-ramp to eastbound U.S. Route 54.
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation begins July 14 over Missouri Boulevard. The road is narrowed to one lane in each direction. An 11-foot width restriction and speed reductions will be in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025.
Associated ramps CLOSED through October 2025. Motorists will need to use alternate routes:
- Eastbound U.S. Route 50 off-ramp to westbound U.S. Route 54.
- Missouri Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound U.S. Route 54.
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge replacement continues over Neighorn Branch, south of Jefferson City. Traffic will be narrowed to one lane in each direction and shift to a head-to-head configuration for the duration of the bridge project. A 14-foot width restriction and speed reductions as low as 45 mph will be in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Associated road restrictions through November 2025:
- Route CC:
- No access from U.S. Route 54 eastbound to Route CC.
- No access from Route CC to either direction of U.S. Route 54.
- Shepherd Hills Road/Wooded Hills Lane intersection:
- No access to or from westbound U.S. Route 54 at Shepherd Hills Road.
- No access to or from eastbound U.S. Route 54 at Wooded Hills Lane.
Cooper County
Missouri Route 41 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over Lamine River. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2025.
Missouri Route 179 – Pavement resurfacing continues from Missouri Route 98 to Missouri Route 87 in Moniteau County. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Crawford County
Missouri Route 8 – Culvert replacement planned July 14 – 17 from Route 19 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work planned July 14 – 17 from Missouri Route 49 to Route VV. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes M and TT – Culvert replacement planned July 14 – 17. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
North Outer Road 44 – Pavement repairs planned July 14 – 17 from Route F to County Road 1190. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route C – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over I-44 in Bourbon. Motorists must use an alternate route for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in August 2025.
Dent County
Route K – Pavement resurfacing scheduled to being July 14 from Missouri Route 19 to Route KK. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026.
Gasconade County
Route 19 – Pavement repairs planned July 14 – 17 from Liske Road to Missouri Route 100. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 50 – Pavement resurfacing continues from west of Linn to east of Rosebud. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026.
Howard County
Missouri Route 5 – Bridge replacement continues over Bear Creek in Glasgow. One lane will remain open, and temporary traffic signals will direct motorists through the work zone. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
Laclede County
Route E– Pavement repairs planned July 16 – 17. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
South Outer Road 44 – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation over Bear Creek. Motorist must use an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
Maries County
Route C – Culvert replacement planned July 14 – 17 from Route H to County Road 424. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Miller County
Route H – Culvert replacement planned July 14 – 17. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 42 – Culvert replacement planned July 16 at Main Street in the City limits of Brumley. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route C – Roadside work planned July 17 at from Route C to Sand Rock Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 54 – Resurfacing continues from the Cole County line to Missouri Route 242. The project is expected to continue through November 2025.
Moniteau County
Route 179 – Pavement resurfacing continues from Route 98 in Cooper County to Route 87. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Route 87 and Route C intersection – Roundabout construction continues. The intersection will remain open,but is narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Morgan County
Route 52 – Roundabout construction continues in Versailles at the intersection of Route 52 and Route 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Osage County
Missouri Route 89 – Pavement repairs planned July 14 – 17 from County Road 623 to Leroy Lane. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route U – Culvert replacement planned July 14 – 17 from Route DD to County Road 607. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 50 – Pavement resurfacing continues from west of Linn to east of Rosebud, including at intersections in the area of State Technical College of Missouri in Linn. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026.
Phelps County
Route F – Roadside work planned July 14 – 17 from County Road 4060 to County Road 3210. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route V – Roadside work planned July 14 – 17 at from County Road 2350 to County Road 2370. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes H, P and V – Pavement repairs planned July 14 – 17. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB – Roadside work planned July 14 – 17 at County Road 3370. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes 72 and KK – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue on Route 72 in Rolla and Route KK in St. James. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Washington County
Missouri Route 47 – Pavement repairs planned July 14 – 17. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 104 – Pavement repairs planned July 14 – 17 through Washington State Park. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but may intermittently narrow to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
Route C – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over Big River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025.
