JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Missouri Route 179 bridge over Moniteau Creek, just south of Jamestown, is now open. After replacing the bridge deck, construction crews were able to reopen the bridge to all traffic on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Crews from E & C Bridge, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed Route 179 over Moniteau Creek on May 19 to replace the bridge deck. Built in 1967 and rehabilitated in 1997, the supporting structures of the bridge are in good condition. The driving surface, however, had deteriorated, was in poor condition, and needed to be replaced.
Replacing the Moniteau County Route U bridge deck over Howard Creek, included in the same contract, is expected begin in later this year.
