MoDOT to install barrier wall on Interstate 70 shoulders at Foristell starting Thurs., July 10

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – Crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will be installing barrier wall on the shoulders of eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 at the Foristell interchange starting Thursday, July 10. All work is weather permitting.

Both westbound and eastbound lanes will remain the standard 12-foot lane width. Crews will be working behind barrier wall to begin the construction of the new bridges for the Foristell interchange improvements to accommodate a third lane in each direction of I-70. The speed limit in this work zone will be reduced to 60 miles per hour.

This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is tentatively set to take place 2025-2028.

Missouri’s FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
