Springfield & Republic – A project to upgrade signals at various locations in the Springfield area is scheduled to start the week of July 14, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Signal updates are at seven locations in the Springfield area. Crews will begin work outside the Springfield city limits and move into the city. Crews will replace signals at all locations, convert left turn signal heads to include a flashing yellow arrow at Evans Road, and replace pedestrian push buttons with audible push buttons at Glenstone Avenue locations.

- Glenstone Avenue (Business 65) & Seminole Street
- Glenstone Avenue (Business 65) & Barataria Street
- In Republic
- U.S. Route 60 at Route MM/M ramps
Traffic Impacts:
- Drivers may encounter flaggers, shoulder closures, lane closures, and traffic shifts where crews are working
- Sidewalk closures at Glenstone Avenue (Business 65) & Seminole Street
- Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
- Drivers urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned.
- Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closures/traffic impacts
Contractor: Midwest Traffic Signal Services, Nixa
The estimated project cost is $1.9 million.
The project is scheduled for completion on November 1, 2026.
