Removal of Temporary Traffic Signal Scheduled near the MO 47/U.S. 61 Interchange at Troy

North Lincoln Drive Removal Scheduled Mid-July

HANNIBAL – Motorists will notice the removal of the traffic control device utilized during construction on the nearby Missouri Route 47 and U.S. Route 61 interchange at Troy. Weather permitting, as early as July 8, contractor crews will be removing the temporary traffic signal, located at the East Cherry Street/Wilson Drive and MO 47 intersection. This location will revert back to stop signs for traffic control.

Additionally, due to scheduling changes, the interchange traffic pattern switch, from the existing two-way traffic on the bridge to the permanent diverging diamond traffic configuration, will now occur during the nighttime hours the week of July 7, weather permitting.

As early as mid-July, crews will mobilize to begin the removal of the crossover and approaches at the North Lincoln Drive intersection at U.S. 61, north of the MO 47/U.S. 61 interchange.

At this time, North Lincoln Drive and Dugan Lane traffic will utilize the new MO 47/U.S. 61 interchange to access U.S. 61. Additionally, the new Dugan Lane/Frenchman Bluff Road extension will open to connect residents to the MO 47/U.S. 61 interchange.

We would like to remind drivers to please slow down, obey all signs and eliminate distractions while driving. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media. We encourage you to view the Stage 4 Construction video to learn more about traffic impacts during this phase. Please visit the project website at www.modot.org/missouri-route-47-and-us-route-61-interchange-improvements-lincoln to view videos for construction, as well as diverging diamond navigation for vehicles and pedestrians.
