FRANKLIN COUNTY- Drivers who regularly use eastbound Missouri Route 185/AF over Interstate 44 in Franklin County will need to use an alternate route starting Sunday, July 6. Crews will close the eastbound lanes of I-44 nightly, along with the Route 185/AF bridge near exit 226.
MoDOT will be working on repairs to the damaged girder over the eastbound lanes of I-44 in Sullivan.
Construction will start at 7 p.m. nightly, Sunday through Thursday, with crews reopening the eastbound lanes along with the bridge by 5 a.m. the following day. Each day’s closure will begin with one eastbound lane closing at 7 p.m., with traffic being pushed to the exit ramp by 9 p.m. Once eastbound traffic is on the exit ramp, motorists will be allowed to go through the intersection to get back onto eastbound I-44.
On Sunday, July 6, the eastbound lane closures will start at 10 p.m. to accommodate holiday weekend traffic. The westbound lanes of Interstate 44 will not be closed for construction.
Local traffic will be detoured using outer roads and the Route D overpass (map link here). Construction is estimated to take approximately two weeks.
