JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Several signals on U.S. Route 50/63 (Rex M. Whitton Expressway) are scheduled to have new, upgraded traffic detection systems installed. The signals at Business U.S. 50 (Missouri Boulevard), Broadway Street, Jefferson Street, Madison Street and Monroe Street will all have new detectors installed.
Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to work June 24-26 and July 1-2 to complete the upgrades. Some single-lane closures will be necessary between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
