JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area June 23 - 29, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
Striping is scheduled on various routes across all counties, including nighttime striping on Interstate 70 and Interstate 44 through the month of June. Lane closures will be utilized to minimize the tracking of wet paint.
Other moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
I-70 Drive Northeast – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 24 from Route Z to Cedar Creek. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route N – Culvert replacement planned June 23 - 24 at Audubon Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route E – Culvert replacement planned June 24 from O B Brown Road to Wolf Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route VV (Dripping Springs Road) – Culvert replacement planned June 25. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route Z – Shoulder work planned June 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route WW (Broadway) – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue between Brickton Road and South Rolling Hills Road. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2025.
Route Y – Pavement resurfacing scheduled to begin June 23 from U.S. Route 63 to Route J. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Outer Road 70 (I-70 Drive) – Pavement resurfacing scheduled to begin June 23 from the end of state maintenance to Missouri Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard). One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Routes U and V – Resurfacing continues from Missouri Route 22 to Missouri Route 124. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through July 2025.
U.S. Route 63 – Interchange improvements continue. Traffic is shifted and narrowed from Sugar Grove Road to approximately 1 mile north of Route AC (Grindstone Parkway). The project is expected to continue through November 2026.
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge construction continues between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. The roadway will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through August 2025. I-70 – New pavement construction continues between Route B (Paris Road) and U.S. Route 63 as part of Improve I-70. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which is expected to be complete in 2027. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity.
Callaway County
Route A – Culvert replacement planned June 23 from Sun Meadow Road to County Road 340. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route J – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route M – Culvert replacement planned June 24, 0.5 miles south of Route E. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route NN – Culvert replacement planned June 26 from South Outer Road 50 to County Road 402. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 54 – Resurfacing continues from Route H in Fulton to Auxvasse Creek in Kingdom City, north of I-70. Single-lane closures will occur at varying times, depending on the location. Expect delays during morning and evening rush hours. The project is expected to continue through June 2025.
Route Z – Resurfacing continues from Business U.S. 54 in the city of Fulton to I-70. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through July 2025.
South Outer Road 70 (Jade Road) – CLOSED for a culvert replacement project at Sallees Creek. Motorists will need to use at alternate route during the closure, which is expected to continue through February 2026.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line (near mile marker 136.6) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity
Camden County
Route A – Culvert replacement planned June 23 - 24. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 42 – Pedestrian facility upgrades scheduled to begin June 25 between Route 42 and School of the Osage intersection. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Route D – Pavement improvements continue on the first 4.75 miles south of U.S. Route 54. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Cole County
Route U – Culvert replacement planned June 24 - 25 from Waterford Road to Black Rock Lane. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route T – Culvert replacement planned June 25 - 26 from Hansen Terrace Court to McDonell Lane. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 54 – Pavement improvements planned June 23 - 26 from Pleasant Hill Road to Gray Road. The eastbound driving (right) lane will be closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over Linden Drive and Stadium Boulevard. The road is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Business U.S. 50 (Missouri Boulevard) and Stadium Boulevard. An 11-foot width restriction and speed reductions as low as 35 mph are in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025.
Associated ramps CLOSED through October 2025. Motorists will need to use alternate routes:
- Madison Street on-ramp to westbound U.S. Route 54.
- S. Route 54 eastbound off-ramp to Madison Street.
- S. Route 54 westbound off-ramp to Stadium Boulevard.
- Christy Drive on-ramp to eastbound U.S. Route 54.
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge replacement scheduled to begin June 16 over Neighorn Branch, south of Jefferson City. Traffic will shift to a head-to-head configuration for the duration of the bridge project. A 14-foot width restriction and speed reductions as low as 45 mph will be in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Cooper County
Route J – Pavement repairs planned June 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 179 – Pavement resurfacing scheduled to begin June 23 from Missouri Route 98 to Missouri Route 87 in Moniteau County. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Crawford County
Missouri Route 19 and Historic Route 66 – Pavement striping planned June 22 - 25 in the city of Cuba. One lane will be closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Missouri Route 8 – Culvert replacement planned June 23 - 26 from Route 19 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work planned June 23 - 26 from Missouri Route 49 to Route VV. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route M – Culvert replacement planned June 23 - 26 from Route U to Route VV. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route P – Culvert replacement planned June 23 - 26 at Lantz Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route C – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over I-44 in Bourbon. Motorists must use an alternate route for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in August 2025.
Gasconade County
Route 19 – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 26 from Liske Road to Missouri Route 100. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 50 – Pavement resurfacing continues from west of Linn to east of Rosebud. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026.
Howard County
Route 87 – Culvert replacement planned June 24. The roadway will be CLOSED between the north and south intersections with Route E from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Route E – Culvert replacement planned June 25 – 26 from County Road 315 to Route 87. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 5 – Bridge replacement continues over Bear Creek in Glasgow. One lane will remain open, and temporary traffic signals will direct motorists through the work zone. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
Laclede County
Route 5 – Pavement striping planned June 22 - 25 in the city of Lebanon. One lane will be closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Route JJ – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 24. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes K and AC – Pavement repairs planned June 24 - 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes C and PP – Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
South Outer Road 44 – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation over Bear Creek. Motorist must use an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
Maries County
Route C – Culvert replacement planned June 23 - 26 from Route H to County Road 424. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 42 – Bridge maintenance planned June 23 - July 3 over the Gasconade River Bridge. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Miller County
Missouri Route 52 – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route H – Culvert replacement planned June 23 - 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 54 – Resurfacing continues from the Cole County line to Missouri Route 242. The project is expected to continue through November 2025.
Moniteau County
Business U.S. 50 – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 25. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 87 – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 179 – Pavement resurfacing scheduled to begin June 23 from Route 98 in Cooper County to Route 87. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Route 179 – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over Moniteau Creek. A signed detour is in place to direct motorists around the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
Route 87 and Route C intersection – Roundabout construction continues. The intersection will remain open, but lane closures will be in place with flaggers directing motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Morgan County
Route 52 – Roundabout construction continues in Versailles at the intersection of Route 52 and Route 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Osage County
U.S. Route 50 – Pavement resurfacing continues from west of Linn to east of Rosebud, including at intersections in the area of State Technical College of Missouri in Linn. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026.
Phelps County
Missouri Route 68 and Route KK – Pavement striping planned June 22 - 25 in the city limits of St. James. One lane will be closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Business Loop 44 – Pavement striping planned June 22 - 25 in the city of Rolla. One lane will be closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Route P – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route T – Culvert replacement planned June 23 – 26 from County Road 7460 to County Road 7400. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes 72 and KK – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue on Route 72 in Rolla and Route KK in St. James. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Pulaski County
Business Loop 44 – Pavement striping planned June 22 - 25 from the city of St. Robert to city of Waynesville. One lane will be closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Washington County
Missouri Route 47 – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 104 – Pavement repairs planned June 23 - 26 through Washington State Park. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but may intermittently narrow to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
Route C – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over Big River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025.
