SIKESTON- Work to construct the roundabout at Route 8 and State Street in Desloge, Missouri continues. Route 8 will remain reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction.
During the week of June 23, contractor crews will install a drainage pipe and remove the existing traffic signals and islands, weather permitting. In preparation for the next stage of construction, temporary signals will be installed to guide traffic through the work zone.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area, as crews will work overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Flaggers will be present.
Beginning Thursday, June 26, State Street will be closed as tie-ins from the new to existing pavement are completed. The closure will be in place for 50 days, weather permitting.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
