Chariton Route PP closed at the Mid-Fork Chariton River Bridge

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Chariton County Route PP Mid-Fork Chariton River Bridge, near Salisbury, is now closed. A routine inspection this morning identified bridge deck and structure deterioration, prompting the Missouri Department of Transportation to close the bridge to all traffic today, Tuesday, June 17.

The Mid-Fork Chariton River Bridge is scheduled to be replaced as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle design-build project. The Capital-Horner & Shifrin team is currently scheduled to begin the replacement project in late July 2025.

Traffic Impacts: The Chariton County Route PP Mid-Fork Chariton River Bridge is closed. Motorists will need to utilize an alternate route until the bridge can be replaced and reopened.
