Southwest District – Drivers should expect one lane traffic, flaggers and pilot cars where contractor crews are sealing state routes with a mixture of rock and oil in St. Clair and Benton counties beginning the week of June 16, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Here’s a look at the locations where contractor crews will be working:
- St. Clair County – Route A between Missouri Route 52 outside Appleton City east approximately 17 miles to Missouri Route 13 near Lowry City
- Benton County – Route MM between Missouri Route 83 northeast approximately six (6) miles to the end of state maintenance near Warsaw
Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars directing them through the work zone. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the work zone.
Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
A seal coat is not an alternative to an asphalt overlay, but is planned for these roads as an economical way to maintain and preserve the roadway. The treatments keep a road from deteriorating and will extend its life.
