ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted Capital Paving and Construction, LLC to complete a resurfacing project on U.S. Route 65 in Chillicothe. The contractor will close access to/from Business U.S. 36 on the east side of Route 65 on Monday, June 16 from 9 p.m. to midnight to make curb repairs at the intersection. Following completion of the east side of the intersection, the contractor will then close access on the west side of Route 65 at Old Highway 36 from midnight to 3 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17.
Traffic Impacts: Access to/from Business 36 on the east side of Route 65 in Chillicothe will be closed from 9 p.m. to midnight on June 16. Access to/from Old Highway 36 on the west side of Route 65 will be closed from midnight to 3 a.m., June 17.
The contractor plans to begin resurfacing Route 65 in Chillicothe on Monday, June 23. Resurfacing will take place at night Monday through Saturday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Additional short-term closures of connecting streets may be necessary. Any vehicles parked on Route 65 in the work zone overnight may be subject to towing.
The project is expected to be complete in July 2024.
