Delayed: Resurfacing of U.S. Route 65 in Chillicothe to begin June 23

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted Capital Paving and Construction, LLC to complete a resurfacing project on U.S. Route 65 in Chillicothe from north of Route 190 to U.S. Route 36. The contractor originally expected to begin resurfacing on Thursday, June 19, but the start date has been delayed until Monday, June 23.

Traffic Impacts: Resurfacing will take place at night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday through Saturday. Route 65 will be narrowed to one lane and flaggers may be directing traffic. Access to city streets may be closed for short periods during resurfacing. Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes.

The project is expected to be complete in July 2024.
