Seal Coat Operations Scheduled on Missouri Route 6 in Adair, Knox and Sullivan Counties

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, as early as June 18, seal coat operations are scheduled to begin on Missouri Route 6 in Adair, Knox and Sullivan Counties.

Contractor crews will start on MO 6 in Knox County, beginning at Missouri Route 15 south junction near Edina and move west to 0.2 mile east of U.S. Route 63 at Kirksville in Adair County. Once complete, crews will shift to MO 6, from Bus. Route 63 in Kirksville in Adair County to the Chariton River bridge near Novinger, then continue west on MO 6 to finish at 0.3 mile west of Route D in Green Castle in Sullivan County.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction in place at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project. Flaggers and a pilot car will be utilized to direct motorists through the work zone. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

The $1.5M contract was awarded last year to W. L. Miller Company of Hamilton, Illinois. All work is scheduled to be completed by September 1, 2025.
