JEFFERSON CITY – In addition to local maintenance crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation striping various routes across the district, contractors working with MoDOT will paint fresh markings on Interstate 44 in Laclede, Pulaski, Phelps, and Crawford counties and Interstate 70 in Cooper, Boone, and Callaway counties beginning Monday, June 2. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until July 1.
Motorists can expect a slow-moving caravan of trucks with flashing lights, boards with flashing arrows and signs that say "Wet Paint." Motorists approaching the striping caravan are reminded to use caution and pass the caravan in the open lane to give the new paint the few minutes it needs to dry and prevent paint from getting onto vehicles.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones.
