JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – Construction of the new Missouri Route 5 bridge over Bear Creek, in Glasgow, is set to move to the next phase of work starting next week. Travelers should expect delays as the road will narrow to one lane with temporary signals guiding motorists through the work zone for remainder of the project.
On June 4, 2025, construction crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin tying in the existing pavement to the new bridge. Route 5 will be narrowed to a single lane with temporary traffic signals guiding motorists through the work zone. An 11-foot, 2-inch width restriction and reduced speeds will be in place.
Additionally, the next several phases have associated road closures:
- June 4 to project completion: Orchard Drive and Kuemmel Park Dr.
- June 9 to project completion: Locust Street.
