ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A portion of Holt County Interstate 29 will have its shoulders reinforced ahead of the deck replacement project on the U.S. Route 59 bridge north of Craig (mile marker 93.4). The Missouri Department of Transportation, working with Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., is scheduled to begin shoulder work on Tuesday, May 27.
Traffic Impacts: During construction, I-29 will be narrowed to one lane near the Route 59 bridge. Motorists should expect delays. A 12-foot width restriction will be in place.
The Route 59 bridge is tentatively scheduled to close June 2 for the deck replacement project. All work is expected to be completed by September 2025.
