SIKESTON—Work to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Route 8 and State Street in Desloge, Missouri will soon be underway.
Construction will begin Monday, June 9, with completion anticipated Monday, Dec. 15, weather permitting.
Route 8 will be reduced to one lane with 10-foot width restrictions in the vicinity of the intersection. The work zone will remain in place 24 hours a day.
During construction, the project will be staged to allow traffic to pass through the intersection, with temporary lane closures as tie-ins to the existing pavement are completed.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
