MoDOT to close right lane of eastbound Interstate 70 at Wentzville Parkway starting May 27

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the right lane of eastbound Interstate 70 between Wentzville Parkway and Route Z as part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project starting Tuesday, May 27. All work is weather permitting.

The right lane will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. This work is part of the realignment of I-70 between Wentzville Parkway and Route Z, including the construction of a new Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge over I-70.

The Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70 was awarded in November 2024. Construction is tentatively set to take place 2025-2028.

Missouri’s FY2024 budget from the General Assembly signed into law by Governor Parson provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue for the costs to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
