Input sought on Route AA bridge deck replacement south of Russellville

Three-week comment period runs May 27-June 17. In-person public meeting June 3.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking community feedback on 2026 plans to rehabilitate the Cole County Route AA bridge over South Moreau Creek, south of Russellville. Built in 1965, the supporting structures are in good condition, but the driving surface has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Currently, the construction plans call for closing Route AA at South Moreau Creek with a signed detour.  

The public's input is essential and by commenting, questioning and providing insight during the in-person meeting and the three-week comment period, the community can help guide the design and construction process. 

The open-house style meeting is scheduled Tuesday, June 3, at the Russellville Shelter Hall located at 13213 Park Street. Attendees may come and go as they please at any time from 4:30 to 6 p.m., as there will be no formal presentation. The project team will be on hand to answer questions, provide information, and receive input about the projectThe meeting exhibits will also be made available online on May 27.    

In addition to the public meeting, there will be a three-week comment period running May 27June 19. Input can be submitted online through a form on the project webpage, emailed to CDCR@modot.mo.gov, or mailed to Route AA Bridge Deck Replacement over South Moreau Creek in Cole County, c/o MoDOT, 1511 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO, 65102. All comments must be received or postmarked by June 19
