MoDOT to close lanes, shift traffic on Route 21 over Grant's Trail next week

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use Route 21 (Tesson Ferry Road) north of Green Park Road will need to allow themselves extra time or consider alternate routes starting next week, as MoDOT will close one lane in each direction over Gravois Creek and Grant’s Trail.

Crews will close one lane in each direction and shift southbound traffic into the northbound lanes between Tiffany Square Park and Green Park Road/Musick Tuesday, May 27, starting at 6 a.m. This will let crews rehabilitate the bridge over Gravois Creek and replace the bridge deck over Grant’s Trail. The lane closures and traffic shifts will be in place through late this year.

As part of the demolition work for the bridge over Grant’s Trail, crews will need to close the trail for safety during the day, Tuesday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 4, weather permitting.

When the trail reopens Thursday, June 5, trail users should stay on the trail and avoid crossing the barrier and fencing placed for safety around the work zone under the bridge.
