Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

May 5 - 11, 2025

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the midMissouri area May 511, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.      

All Counties 

Moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment. 

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. 

Boone County   

Routes V and U Resurfacing continues from Missouri Route 22 to Missouri Route 124. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through May 2025. 

Routes Z, HH, and OO Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through early May 2025. 

Route E Resurfacing continues from Industrial Drive to Missouri Route 124. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through June 2025. 

Route PP Resurfacing continues from Tanzaite Drive to Dusty Rhodes Lane. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through June 2025. 

Outer Road 63 Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to continue through June 2025. 

U.S. Route 63 Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through August 2025. The bridge construction is part of the Improve I-70 program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 

I-70New pavement construction continues between Route B (Paris Road) and U.S. Route 63 as part of Improve I-70. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which is expected to be complete in 2027. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 

Callaway County 

Route Z – Culvert replacement planned May 5 from Route JJ to County Road 140. The road will be CLOSED from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Route FF – Pavement repairs planned May 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.        

Route A Pavement repairs planned May 6 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.        

U.S. Route 54 – Resurfacing continues from Route H in Fulton to Auxvasse Creek in Kingdom City, north of I-70. Single-lane closures will occur at varying times, depending on the location. Expect delays during morning and evening rush hours. The project is expected to continue through May 2025. 

I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line (near mile marker 136.6) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity 

Camden County 

Route E – Pavement repairs planned May 5 – 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route D Pavement improvements continue on the first 4.75 miles south of U.S. Route 54. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025. 

Business Route 54 (Osage Beach Parkway) Pedestrian facility upgrades continue between Case Road and Jefferies Road. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2025.  

Cole County 

U.S. Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation scheduled to begin May 5 over Linden Drive and Stadium Boulevard. U.S. Route 54 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between Business Route 54 (Missouri Boulevard) and Stadium Boulevard. An 11-foot width restriction and speed reductions as low as 35 mph will be in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025.  

U.S. Route 54 – Starting May 7, the ramp from Madison Street to westbound U.S. Route 54 will be CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project through October 2025. Motorists will need to use an alternate route.

Cooper County 

Route BB – Pavement repairs planned May 57. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

I-70 – Bridge maintenance continues at the Lamine River Bridge (mile marker 93). The eastbound driving (right) lane will be closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025. 

Routes BB and PP Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag motorists through the work zones. This is part of a series of rural route resurfacing projects in Cooper, Morgan, Moniteau and Cole counties that will continue through May 2025. 

Crawford County 

Missouri Route 19 – Roadside work planned May 57 from Missouri Route 49 to Edgar Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 49 Pavement repairs planned May 57 from Route 19 to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route J – Roadside work planned May 5 – 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route M – Culvert replacement planned May 57 from Route U to Route VV. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route P Culvert replacement planned May 57 from Lantz Road to Bailey Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes AA and TT – Pavement repairs planned May 5 – 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 49 – Pavement preservation continues from Route 32 to Route Y in Iron County. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025. 

Route F Resurfacing continues from Route 19 to I-44. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025. 

Route KK Resurfacing continues from Route ZZ to I-44. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025. 

Route FF – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over I-44. Motorists must use an alternate route for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in June 2025. 

South Outer Road 44 – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over the Little Bourbeuse River. Motorist must use an alternate route for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in July 2025.  

 Dent County 

Route 19 – Roadside work continues at Standing Rock Creek, south of Route N, as part of a bridge replacement project. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in May 2025. 

Route H Resurfacing continues from Missouri Route 72 to Route M in Phelps County. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025. 

Route TT – CLOSED due to flood damage at Crooked Creek. Motorist must use an alternate route until further notice. 

 Gasconade County 

U.S. Route 50 – Pavement resurfacing continues from west of Linn to east of Rosebud. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Howard County 

Route 5 – Bridge replacement continues over Bear Creek in Glasgow. One lane will remain open, and temporary traffic signals will direct motorists through the work zone. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025. 

Laclede County 

Missouri Route 32 – Shoulder work planned May 5 – 7 at Route U. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route AD – Shoulder work planned May 5 – 7 over the Gasconade River. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes C, E, V and JJ – Pavement repairs planned May 57. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Miller County 

Route C – Shoulder work planned May 5 – 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route H – Culvert replacement planned May 57. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Moniteau County 

Route F Culvert replacement planned May 5 – 7 from Route MM to Route E. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes D and O – Pavement repairs planned May 5 – 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Morgan County 

Route PP Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag motorists through the work zone. This is part of a series of rural route resurfacing projects in Cooper, Morgan, Moniteau and Cole counties that will continue through May 2025. 

Missouri Route 52 Roundabout construction scheduled to being May 5 in Versailles at the intersection of Route 52 and Missouri Route 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. Work will take place overnight Monday through Friday, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., through mid-June.  

Osage County 

Missouri Route 89 – Pavement repairs planned May 5 7 from U.S. Route 50 to Missouri Route 100. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

U.S. Route 50 Pedestrian facility upgrades scheduled to begin May 5 in the city of Linn between 11th street and Linnwood Drive. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2025.  

U.S. Route 50 – Pavement resurfacing continues from west of Linn to east of Rosebud. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Phelps County 

Missouri Route 68 – Culvert replacement planned May 5 – 7 at County Road 4400. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes E, T, U, Y, and CC – Culvert replacements planned May 57. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes J, M, and CC Pavement repairs planned May 57. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes W and CC – Roadside work planned May 5 – 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route H Resurfacing continues from Route M to Route 72 in Dent County. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025. 

Routes 72 and KKPedestrian facility upgrades continue on Route 72 in Rolla and Route KK in St. James. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 

I-44 – Road resurfacing and reconstruction continues eastbound from Exit 186 (U.S. Route 63) in Rolla to Exit 195 (Missouri Route 68) in St. James. Expect around-the-clock lane closures weekly, beginning at 11 p.m. on Sundays and continuing through 6 a.m. on Fridays. 

Pulaski County 

Missouri Route 17 – Bridge maintenance planned May 5 – 7 over the Gasconade River. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 17 – Bridge maintenance planned May 5 – 7 over the Roubidoux River. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route T – Bridge maintenance planned May 57 over the Gasconade River. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route Y – Culvert replacement planned May 5 – 7 at Hermit Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Avenue – Bridge maintenance planned May 57 over I-44. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Washington County 

Missouri Route 21 – Shoulder work planned May 57 at Warden Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route JJ – Pavement repairs planned May 57. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Union Pacific Railroad. Route 8 will remain open throughout the project but may intermittently narrow to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
