Resurfacing Work to Begin on Southbound U.S. Route 63 in Randolph County

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, May 5, resurfacing operations are set to begin on a 15-mile resurfacing and diamond grinding project located on the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 63, from 0.3 mile south of U.S. Route 24 at Moberly in Randolph County to the Boone County line.

Diamond-grinding operations, located on several sections of southbound U.S. Route 63, between the U.S. Route 24 and Missouri Route 22 interchanges at Moberly, were completed in early April.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction at the location where crews are actively working. Signs and message boards will be utilized for traffic control and to alert motorists of schedule changes. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

The $6.6M contract was awarded last year to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC of Columbia, Missouri and includes a 7.6 mile resurfacing project located on U.S. Route 24, from the Chariton County line to 1.5 miles west of Route C near Huntsville in Randolph County.
