JOHNSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting various closures on Missouri Highway 23 between U.S. Highway 50 and Johnson County Route DD beginning on Fri., May 2 at approximately 6 a.m., The work will include signal upgrades, resurfacing from Missouri Business Highway 50 (McPherson St.) to Route DD, and the installation of a right turn lane from MO-23 NB to McPherson St. Traffic impacts will include lane closures, flagging operations, and shoulder closures. Construction is scheduled to be completed in July 2025. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
