JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will close one lane on EB/WB I-670 on the I-670 Viaduct from Beardsley Rd. to the Kansas state line from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day (approximately) beginning Monday, April 21-Friday, April 25. In addition to the one lane closure on EB/WB I-670, crews may also need to make short intermittent closures of the on-and-off ramps from EB/WB I-670 to Liberty St., Wyoming St., and Genessee St. This work is for light pole removal and repair to prepare for the replacement of lighting on the I-670 Viaduct from Beardsley Rd. to the Kansas state line later in 2025.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and be vigilant of work in the area. All work is weather permitting. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
