JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A project to apply a new high friction surface treatment on westbound Interstate 44 is scheduled to begin next week. Crews from Truesdell Corporation, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to start the surface treatment on April 22 between Route V and U.S. Route 63 near Rolla. Nighttime lane closures are planned through April 30.
The road will remain open during construction however westbound I-44 will be narrowed to one lane in short segments. The single-lane closures will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday through Friday.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
