JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting pavement repair operations on eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 40 from Sterling Ave. in Independence to Ooida Dr. in Grain Valley resulting in various lane closures and flagging operations beginning on approximately Wednesday, April 16 (tomorrow) until Tuesday, May 6 between 8 pm and 10 am. This is not a complete closure, but motorist should expect delays. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
