SIKESTON – Route 74/Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction as construction crews perform bridge maintenance.
The Emerson Bridge goes over the Mississippi River into Illinois located between Fountain Street and Levee Road.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin Monday, April 28 with completion anticipated Saturday, Nov. 1.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
