SIKESTON—Work to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Route 51 and Route 72 in Patton, Missouri will soon be underway.
Construction will begin Monday, April 28, with completion anticipated Saturday, Nov. 1, weather permitting.
Routes 51 and 72 will both be reduced to one lane with 10-foot width restrictions in the vicinity of the intersection. Temporary bypasses will be constructed to help guide motorists through the work zone and will remain in place 24 hours a day.
As the project nears completion, short-term closures will be necessary as connections are made to the existing pavement.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
