ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A project focused on resurfacing low volume rural routes in several counties across Northwest Missouri, originally scheduled to begin Thursday, April 10 has been delayed again to Monday, April 21 due to contractor schedule changes. Capital Paving and Construction LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin construction on Chariton County Route W to the intersection of Missouri Route 3 in Randolph County.
Traffic Impacts: During construction, Route W will be narrowed to one lane with flaggers directing motorists through the work zone. Travel delays should be expected.
The following routes will also be resurfaced with this project:
- Carroll County Routes E, EE, T, UU, NN
- Linn County Routes EE, W
- Chariton County Route C
- Linn/Chariton County Routes TT, ZZ
All 11 routes are anticipated to be complete by the end of October 2025. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
In 2024, the Governor signed the Fiscal Year 2025 budget including an additional $100 million to continue low-volume road improvements. This funding will be used to improve conditions on 1,985 lane miles of rural roads at 149 locations, including the ones listed below.
