MoDOT to close Route 141 at I-44 due to river flooding

ST. LOUIS – Crews will close Route 141 at Interstate 44 in Valley Park after noon today due to Meramec River flooding.

Although all southbound Route 141 lanes under the interstate will be closed, drivers will be able to exit to both eastbound and westbound I-44.

Drivers will be able to continue on northbound Route 141 near I- 44 only as far as Meramec Station Road. Truck traffic should use Bowles Avenue as a detour to get to eastbound and westbound I-44.

The ramp from eastbound I-44 to southbound Route 141 will remain open through the day, but will close before morning rush Tuesday, April 8. The ramp from westbound I-44 to the north outer road and northbound Route 141 will remain open.

Crews will reopen lanes as soon as flood waters have receded, and the lanes are safe for travel.  For safety reasons, motorists are strongly advised to not drive onto lanes that are closed or covered in water.
