ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use Route 100 in Franklin and western St. Louis counties should be aware of construction starting next week along the corridor between Route 109 and Route OO.
All work is weather permitting.
This project includes a partnership with Wildwood to construct left turn lanes at four locations and J-turns at Route T (St. Albans Road) and Pond Road to improve safety along the corridor. As a part of the project, pavement along the corridor will be repaired and the corridor will be resurfaced.
Work starts next week in the two-lane sections of roadway, near Hawks Rest, Windy Hollow, Hencken and Woodland Meadows. Weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., crews will be working on the shoulders, with occasional closures on the eastbound lanes. During those closures, flaggers will help stop eastbound traffic for short periods in the work zone. Weeknights, crews will close one of the two lanes between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning. Flaggers will again help direct traffic in both directions through the work zone. During the work, residents will be able to enter and exit Route 100 at the listed entrances but may have a short delay to enter or exit the roadway.
In addition, crews will start making pavement repairs on Route 100 in the four-lane section between Route 109 and Booness Lane, starting April 14. During off-peak traffic hours, crews will have one lane closed in either direction to remove and replace pavement on the corridor each weekday. Work on eastbound lanes will start after morning rush, and work on westbound lanes will end before evening rush.
Work will continue along this corridor through late fall.
