JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – A project at various locations on Missouri Route 72 in Rolla and Route KK in St. James is set to begin next week. Construction crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to start on Monday, March 31, to bring pedestrian facilities into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent nightly, single-lane closures of outside lanes on Route 72 in Rolla, as needed. The contractor plans to start work on Route 72 near U.S. Route 63 and progress east. All work is projected to be complete by the end of November.
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
