HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, a 15-mile resurfacing and diamond grinding project located on the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 63, from 0.3 mile south of U.S. Route 24 at Moberly in Randolph County to the Boone County line, will resume the week of April 1 after work was suspended over the winter.
Diamond-grinding will occur on several sections of southbound U.S. Route 63, between the U.S. Route 24 and Missouri Route 22 interchanges at Moberly at the following locations:
- Various sections of southbound U.S. 63 from U.S. 24 to Route M/Urbandale Drive
- Southbound U.S. 63 on-ramp/off-ramps at the following interchanges:
- On-Ramp from U.S. 24
- Off-Ramp to Rolling Street
- Off-Ramp to Route M/Urbandale Drive
- On-Ramp from Route M/Urbandale Drive
- Off-Ramp to Route F/MO 22
Traffic will be reduced to one lane including width restrictions at the locations where crews are actively working:
- Southbound U.S. 63: 12-foot width restriction
- Southbound U.S. 63 on-ramp/off-ramps: 10-foot width restriction
Signs and message boards will be utilized for traffic control and to alert motorists of schedule changes. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
The $6.6M contract was awarded last year to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC of Columbia, Missouri and include a 7.6 mile resurfacing project located on U.S. Route 24, from the Chariton County line to 1.5 miles west of Route C near Huntsville in Randolph County.
