Several routes to be resurfaced in Cooper, Moniteau, Morgan, and Cole counties

Work to begin March 24

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo A resurfacing project spanning nearly 55 miles across Cooper, Moniteau, Morgan, and Cole counties is set to begin next week. Construction crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to start on Monday, March 24.  

During construction, each roadway will be reduced to one lane Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with flaggers and a pilot car guiding motorists through the work zone. All work is projected to be complete by the end of May.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $5,092,434.67 contract to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC for the project at their October 2024 meeting. These resurfacing projects are included as part of Gov. Parson’s Rural Road program. In 2024, the Governor signed the Fiscal Year 2025 budget including an additional $100 million to continue low-volume road improvements. This funding will be used to improve conditions on 1,985 lane miles of rural roads at 149 locations, including the ones listed above.
