Kansas City Launches First Phase of Public Involvement for Reconnecting the East Side Study

The community summit will take place from 10 a.m. - noon on March 22 at Southeast High School.

Per City of Kansas City, MO Communications: 

Kansas City Launches First Phase of “Reconnecting the East Side” (PEL) Study

Kansas City, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), will host a community summit public involvement event for the Reconnecting the East Side Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study.

The boundaries of the study include the U.S. 71 corridor from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard on the north to 85th Street on the south, and Paseo Boulevard on the west and Swope Parkway on the east.

The Reconnecting the East Side Community Summit will take place from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Southeast High School (3500 E Meyer Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64132).

The community summit will focus on gathering public input about needs, issues, and potential improvements for the corridor.
