Southwest District – Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on several routes in Dallas, Hickory and Polk counties beginning the week of March 24, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
This project is part of Gov. Parson’s Rural Road program. The state’s approved Fiscal Year 2023 budget provided an additional $100 million in General Revenue for work on Missouri’s low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, MoDOT has identified approximately 1,700 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in Poor Condition.
This is the work being done on this project:
- Polk County Route AB from Missouri Route 215 east of Pleasant Hope south to 222nd Road
- Polk County UU from East 510th Road east to Polk County Route U north of Morrisville
- Polk/Dallas County Route C from Polk County Route D east to U.S. Route 65 north of Buffalo
- Polk County Route B from Missouri Route 13 east to South 97th Road north of Bolivar
- Hickory/Polk County Route O from Hickory County Route H east of Weableau south to Polk County Route B north of Bolivar
- Dallas/Hickory/Polk County Route HH from U.S. Route 65 south of Urbana to Missouri Route 64 west of Louisburg
- Dallas County Route DD from County Road DD-94 (Hackberry Road) to Missouri Route 73 north of Buffalo
Contractor crews will add an overlay of new asphalt, permanent striping and rumble strips to the above routes.
Traffic impacts:
- Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are laying asphalt
- Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
- Vehicles parked along these routes should be removed to allow the contractor to remove and replace the asphalt surface
- Work will be done during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; all lanes open to traffic at night
- No signed detour
- Drivers should find alternate routes
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Drivers are urged to use caution as they may experience a rough ride in areas until the resurfacing project is complete.
Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule.
