JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area March 17 - 23, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
Moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
Route T – Resurfacing planned March 17 - 24 from Route F in Boone County to Route B in Randolph County. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.
Route F – Resurfacing planned March 19 - 31 from U.S. Route 63 to Missouri Route 124. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through late 2025. Interstate 70 – New pavement construction continues in Columbia from Route B (Paris Road) to U.S. Route 63 through January 2027 as part of the Improve I-70 program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity.
Callaway County
Route W – Culvert replacement planned March 17 – 20 from Jade Road to County Road 177. The road will be CLOSED from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
I-70 – Work continues under the railroad bridge in Kingdom City, between mile markers 147.4 and 148, immediately west of U.S. Route 54. Nightly lane closures will resume March 24, 2025.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line (near mile marker 136.6) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Camden County
Route D – Pavement improvements continue on the first 4.75 miles south of U.S. Route 54. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
Route MM – Toll booth removal continues. Route MM will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
Cole County
U.S. Route 54 – Overhead sign replacements planned nightly March 17 - 21 between Route W (Airport Road) and Missouri Route 179.
Cooper County
Missouri Route 41 – Roadside work planned March 17 - 20 from Missouri Route 135 to the Saline County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route W – Culvert replacement planned March 20 from Hunt Mill Road to Ernst Road. The road will be CLOSED from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Crawford County
Old Route 66 – Roadside work planned March 17 from Route UU to Route H. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-44 – Pavement repairs planned March 17 - 21, westbound only, from mile marker 224 in Sullivan to Exit 214 west of Bourbon.
Missouri Route 8 – Roadside work planned March 17 - 20 from Missouri Route 19 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work planned March 17 - 20 from Missouri Route 49 to Edgar Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 49 – Roadside work planned March 17 - 20 from Route 19 to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route M – Culvert replacement planned March 17 - 20 from Route U to Route VV. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work continues at Standing Rock Creek, south of Route N, as part of a bridge replacement project. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in May 2025.
Howard County
Route EE – Resurfacing planned March 17 - 21 from Route A to Route J. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.
Route A – Resurfacing planned March 17 - 31 from Route B to Missouri Route 124. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.
Maries County
Routes M and W – Culvert replacement planned March 17 – 20. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Miller County
Missouri Route 52 – Upgrades to pedestrian facilities in the city of St. Elizabeth at Walnut Street. One lane will remain open in each direction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2025.
Morgan County
Route 52 – Pavement work continues in Versailles between Fairgrounds Road and Missouri Route 5 as part of the intersection improvement project at Route 52 and Route 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Osage County
Missouri Route 89 – Pavement repairs planned March 17 - 20 from U.S. Route 50 to Missouri Route 28. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Phelps County
Missouri Route 68 – Culvert replacement planned March 17 – 20 from Route H to County Road 2460. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route E – Culvert replacement planned March 17 – 20 from Route HH to County Road 8450. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route Y – Culvert replacement planned March 17 – 20 from County Road 8420 to state maintenance ends. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route EE – Culvert replacement planned March 17 - 20. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route T – Roadside work planned March 18 - 20 from County Road 7490 to Route P. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Washington County
Missouri Route 21 – Roadside work planned March 17 - 20 at Kayak Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route C – Culvert replacement planned March 17 - 20 at Route JJ. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Union Pacific Railroad. Route 8 will remain open throughout the project but may narrow to one lane intermittently. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
