Accessibility improvements set to start in St. Elizabeth next week

Work planned in Miller, Camden, Laclede, and Pulaski counties

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A multi-county project upgrading pedestrian facilities is scheduled to get underway in Miller County next week. Planned improvements include sidewalks, curb ramps, and pavement approaches to bring them into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Starting Monday, March 17, crews will begin work in St. Elizabeth on Missouri Route 52 from Walnut Street to just east of Jefferson Street. Once complete, improvements will begin at the intersection of Route 52 and High Street in Tuscumbia.

Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers as necessary.

As part of this project, upgrades are also planned at the following locations, but the exact scheduled of work will be dependent on weather:

Miller County

  • Missouri Route 42 at School of the Osage.

Camden County

  • Business Route 54 (Osage Beach Parkway) intersection at Case Road.
  • Osage Beach Parkway from Jefferies Road to the eastbound U.S. Route 54 on-ramp.

Laclede County

  • Missouri Route 5 at the intersection with Missouri Route 64 in Lebanon.
  • Route 5 at Adams Avenue in Lebanon.

Pulaski County

  • Route 7 at the intersection with Route A in Richland.
  • Missouri Route 28 from East A Street to Chestnut Street in Dixon.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
