JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – A resurfacing project is set to begin next week on five routes in Boone, Howard and Randolph counties, spanning more than 43 miles of roadway. Construction crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to begin setting signs along the first routes this week, with resurfacing scheduled to begin Monday, March 17. The current planned schedule of work is listed below:
- Howard County Route EE from Route A to Route J: March 17 – 21.
- Howard County Route A from Route B to Route 124: March 17 – 31.
- Boone/Randolph County Route T from Route B to Route F: March 17 – 24.
- Boone County Route F from U.S. Route 63 to Route 124: March 19 – 31.
- Howard County Route AA from Route 87 to Route E: March 26 – April 1.
During construction, each roadway may be reduced to one lane between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with flaggers and a pilot car guiding motorists through the work zone.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $3,674,768.78 contract to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC for the project at their October 2024 meeting. These resurfacing projects are included as part of Gov. Parson’s Rural Road program. In 2024, the Governor signed the Fiscal Year 2025 budget including an additional $100 million to continue low-volume road improvements. This funding will be used to improve conditions on 1,985 lane miles of rural roads at 149 locations, including the ones listed above.
