TRAFFIC ALERT: David Dr./I-49 Bridge in Newton Co. Reduced to One Lane, Max Load Reduced March 11

Where: David Drive bridge over I-49 in Newton County north of Neosho

When: 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 11 until further notice

What: David Drive/I-49 bridge reduced to one (1) lane and maximum load permitted across the bridge is reduced to 40,000 pounds after bridge was struck by farm equipment Friday, March 7

Traffic Impacts:

  • David Drive over I-49 reduced to one lane, all traffic shifted into westbound lane
  • Maximum load permitted over the bridge reduced to 40,000 pounds
  • Bridge will remain in this traffic configuration until repairs are complete
  • No signed detours
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the bridge
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
