JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area March 10 - 16, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
Moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through late 2025. Interstate 70 – New pavement construction continues in Columbia from Route B (Paris Road) to U.S. Route 63 through January 2027 as part of the Improve I-70 program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity.
Callaway County
U.S. Route 54 – Guardrail work continues from Jefferson City to Kingdom City. Single-lane closures will occur at varying times, depending on the location. Expect delays during morning/evening rush hours. The project is expected to continue through March 2025.
I-70 – Work continues under the railroad bridge in Kingdom City. One lane of I-70, in both directions, will be closed nightly 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Saturday, between mile markers 147.4 and 148, immediately west of U.S. Route 54. Nightly lane closures will continue through the end of March 2025.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line (near mile marker 136.6) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Camden County
Route D – Pavement improvements continue on the first 4.75 miles south of U.S. Route 54. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
Route MM – Toll booth removal continues. Route MM will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
Cole County
Route B – Bridge work planned March 10 - 13 over Moreau River bridge near Wardsville. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S Route 54 – Overhead sign replacements planned nightly March 10 - 14 between Route W (Airport Road) and Missouri Route 179.
Crawford County
Route KK – Culvert replacement planned March 10 from Route ZZ to Thurman Lake Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-44 – Pavement repairs planned March 10 - 14, westbound only, from mile marker 224 in Sullivan to Exit 214 west of Bourbon.
Missouri Route 8 – Roadside work planned March 10 - 14 from Missouri Route 19 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work planned March 10 - 14 from Missouri Route 49 to Edgar Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 49 – Roadside work planned March 10 - 14 from Route 19 to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work continues at Standing Rock Creek, south of Route N, as part of a bridge replacement project. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in May 2025.
Laclede County
Routes E and W – Roadside work planned March 10 - 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Maries County
Route W – Culvert replacement planned March 10 – 14. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Miller County
Route CC – Culvert replacement planned March 10 – 13 at Northridge Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Morgan County
Missouri Route 52 – Pavement work continues in Versailles between Fairgrounds Road and Missouri Route 5 as part of the intersection improvement project at Route 52 and Route 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Phelps County
I-44 – Shoulder work planned March 10, westbound only, at mile marker 169. One lane will be closed from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Route KK – Culvert replacement planned March 10 from Missouri Route 68 (Jefferson Street) to G Street. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route EE – Culvert replacement planned March 10 – 13 from I-44 to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route EE – Culvert replacement planned March 10 - 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route T – Roadside work planned March 11 - 13 from County Road 7490 to Route P. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Pulaski County
Outer Road 44 (Spruce Road) – Culvert replacement planned March 10 - 14 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Washington County
Route C – Culvert replacement planned March 10 - 14 at Route JJ. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation scheduled to begin March 3 over the Union Pacific Railroad. Route 8 will remain open throughout the project but will be narrowed to one lane at times. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
