Erdman, Boatwright to Continue to Lead Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission today voted Warren K. Erdman, Kansas City, and W. Dustin Boatwright, Cape Girardeau, into the roles of commission chair and vice chair, respectively. Boatwright previously served as commission chairman over the past year, with Erdman as vice chair.

Erdman, a republican, was appointed to the commission in October 2022. Boatwright, an independent, was appointed to the commission in September 2020.

In addition to his role on the commission, Erdman is the executive advisor of special projects for the CEO at Canadian Pacific Kansas City. He previously served former governors John Ashcroft and Kit Bond, and was chief of staff to U.S. Senator Christopher S. Bond. He’s currently a member of various civic organizations, including the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Missouri Hawthorn Foundation and the Kansas City Downtown Council.

Boatwright is a lifelong resident of southeast Missouri and currently serves as the chief engineer/executive vice president of the Little River Drainage District. He is a graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering, and is registered in the State of Missouri as a professional engineer and a licensed surveyor in-training.

Other members of the Commission are Gregg C. Smith, Clinton; Daniel Hegeman, Cosby; Francis Slay, St. Louis; and Ann Marie Baker, Springfield. The six-member commission governs the Missouri Department of Transportation, the agency responsible for building, operating and maintaining the state highway system and supporting other transportation modes in Missouri.

“I’m honored to have spent the last year chairing the dedicated members of the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission,” said former Chairman Boatwright. “This commission is tasked with work critical to the well-being of this state’s infrastructure. It’s challenging but even more rewarding. We’ve made tremendous strides in improving Missouri’s transportation system, from its busiest interstates to its most rural highways. I look forward to continuing that work on the commission as vice chair under Mr. Erdman’s leadership.”
